PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS |
THE DIELECTRIC
Dielectric consists of the single layer or double layer PP Film (Polypropylene Film) + Aluminium Foil design |
THE IMPREGNANT
The dielectric fluid used for impregnating Capacitors is Non-PCB, Non toxic and environmentally compatible |
HOUSING
The housing of Capacitors is made of CRCA Sheet, welded together. Protection of Housing is Protected by zinc primer and epoxy paint layers. |
BUSHINGS
Porcelain bushings with brass terminals are provided |
ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND FEATURES |
• Capacitors are designed to carry continuously 1.3 times of rated current by over voltage / harmonics.
• Before delivery, every capacitor is subjected to the following routine tests according to the provisions of the applicable standard IS 13585 / 1993

Voltage Test between terminals and containers |

Insulation Resistance Test
Measurement of tangent of dielectric loss angle |
REDUCED CAPACITOR LOSSES
The Dielectric losses for capacitors measured at ambient temperature are Less than 0.5 watts / kVAr
THERMAL STABILITY
Due to extremely low losses, the dielectric hot spot temperature rise is very low and stable. All film capacitor maybe used at relatively high ambient temperatures without reliability compromise
CAPACITOR PROTECTIONS
Fuse protection: External fuse (HRC type) for capacitor unit or each capacitor element has an internal fuse to ensure non- interrupted service.
Discharge Resistors- Capacitors have discharge resistors connected externally between the terminals. The resistors reduce the residual voltage to below 50 V within 1 minute after disconnecting the Capacitor from the circuit.

You Must Know
WHAT IS POWER FACTOR : All alternating current equipment (except those for lighting and resistance heating) draw from the supply an extra current which remains 'idle' and cannot be converted into useful work. The ratio of the useful part of the current to the total current drawn form the supply can be defined as 'Power Factor 1. Industrial equipment such as induction motors, induction furnaces, welding transformers draw excess current from the supply, than the actual current required for the work done i.e. have low power factor which varies between 0.60 and 0.70 The remaining 0.30 to 0.40 is not convertible to useful power.
Thus power factor = kilowatt x 1000 /
3 x Volts x Ampers Or Average KW load /
KVA Maximum Demand

WHY APP ONLY ? |
Capacitor output (kVAr) is constant for long period. |
Initial cost is high but long period performance it is very cheaper. |
No corrosion |
Power factor and Max. demand will remain steady. |
Can bear transients and harmonics of reasonable amplitude. |
Can work in super tropical countries like ours. |
Damage to dielectric is negligible. Little quantity of gas generated will get absorbed by impreganant |
Suitable for 650/750 volts application with reasonable transients & Harmonics |
